No FCC Monitoring on CB?!?!?

Anywho... I think of the FCC as a moneypit, just a wishin' well I toss my money into every decade or so.
I listen to the bad US ops trying to stomp that idiot Karel on 14.275, never heard of any enforcement there.
The portion of forty meters where we are only allowed CW is swamped nightly by Canadians (legal in their country) and other LIDS who jump on a frequency without even asking if its in use! Some of our Latino neighbors clear a frequency by sending a KW or more of "Hola, hola, hola" tuning up, until everyone vacates 'their' chosen frequency.
Naturally our FCC can't do much about those situations, but it truly makes an op develope a 'don't care, got my thang' attitude.

In as much as the FCC has backed off and allowed the CB bands to become a free for all, they have pretty much done the same with the VHF Marine band as well. The only time you'll ever get your hand slapped on the Marine channels is if you hold an extended rag chew on channel 16, then you'll get a scolding voice from the closest Coast Guard station telling you that channel 16 is for calling and distress traffic only, and to move to another channel.
Beyond that the only actions taken are against those who transmit false mayday calls.
Every summer when the ocean and back bays fill with boats, channel 68 becomes lid capitol of all radio frequencies, kids, drunks, and your average idiots who have absolutely no radio operating skills clog that channel with ear splitting nonsense, and it many times spills over to channels 67 and 69.
Most of the seasoned fishermen and their friends will meet up on channels 71 or 72 in an effort to steer clear of the idiots, but sometimes the idiots find them there as well.
It's obvious the FCC either doesn't give a rat's ass, or they just don't have the man power or resources to do anything about it. Back when they required every boat to obtain a radio license, and you were required to identify yourself with an issued call sign, most boaters and fishermen behaved like gentlemen, but now it's rated "R" on a good day, and I've witnessed some radio traffic that classified as "X"......

It's been a long time since I monitored the SSB Marine bands , I certainly hope the same hasn't been allowed to happen there as well......
