I removed the bottom cover of my tup-9. There's no potentiometer. The board is marked pc-100 . Anyone family with this mic?

If it has the preamp then it has a pot unless someone modified it and substituted a couple fixed resistors. That would maintain a constant non-variable output level,

There has to be an adjustment somewhere, That's weird it has no POT to adjust audio level unless as CK said "someone played with the board" Only one I know that has no audio adjustment is the non amplified version.

I've taken a few pictures but after trying to figure out how to get them to the thread I give up. I've explained in thr past that I'm severely disabled and cannot do many things needed in order to enjoy this hobby. The first two weeks were great but I've come to believe "you can never go home". I've become jaded.by the many sarcastic responses to many of my questions. I've decided that instead of asking questions, from now on I will do search. I have many friends and family who help me but I try not to ask them to do certain things that are not as important than the other daily needs that are nesessery in order for me to live as independently as on in my condition can. I have the money in order to live and enjoy any hobby I want to, within reason. If I had a person I could rely on to send equipment to for repair great but, after asking many times it's obvious that person or place don't exist. I will pack up all but one station and enjoy one every now and then. If I have a problem with a piece of equipment I will put it away and purchase a new one. I want to thank capital kw, audio shockwaves loosecannon and all the others who have answered my questions with patients and kindness. Unfortunately most of the members answering my questions have talked down to me and made fun of my lack of radio and asking questions skills. If you know or you yourself deal with mental or physical trauma then you understand but it seems those who do understand are few and far between on wwdx. Once again thanks to all who have helped me. I would like to end by asking those who are quick to answer questions that are obviously being asked by a member who has little to no knowledge of this hobby to try and be a bit less sarcastic when answering those members questions. 73's

Late on this reply....

Several transceivers did not have an amp board installed. My Yaesu FT-101EE and my old Hygain 623s are examples. These rigs have vacuum tube (valves) for finals and do not need or want the amplification by design. You could use a D104 with the amp on these rigs but would have to adjust the drive.
One time an amp kit was offered as replacement and could upgrade the TU base, I have one of these someplace in the shack.

as far as loading pics, use the middle button - upload a file - and browse to the pic on your drive and select the file. it will then upload and under the button you get another button set

put the cursor where you want to insert the image and choose between the thumbnail or a full sized image.
I used full size for the first, thumb for the second. click on the thumbnail for a bigger image.

there are several techs mentioned on the board that you can send your stuff to that are highly thought of. I ordered my last radio from DTB radio and was happy with the results and will be sending him my first repair if I can't figure it out myself.

I think the people that can understand suffering without actually dealing with it are few and far between. that being said, if you can't deal with sarcasm and idiots, I don't see how you can ever truly enjoy cb, where the beer and the idiots play.

Kind of hard to tell without a picture. That board is exactly what is supposed to be there. All TUP9 stands (stand with base key bar), have the PC 100 style board. Not having an adjustment pot means it's been modified by a previous owner and the pot have been removed …. but the hole for the pot adjustment should still be there. Any mod can be un-done. Someone who works on these mics could re-install this pot for you but I have found them to be an obsolete physical style and I haven't been to find any new ones for sale at any of the electronic parts houses. You'd likely have to take one off another pc 100 board that has been junked for parts.
