Gonna get a new radio the Omega Force High power Can anyone reccomend who to get it from?

Thanks
Bobby

Off hand I would say first, any place that still has one in stock. After that you might call Doug at Custom CB and see if he can get one. Bob's CB in PA would be another good choice.

:cursing:Copper electronics is the cheapest ive seen, (BUT) dont let them "tune it".
I got mine there and nothin but problems from day 1. Finally got Sam Lewis to give me an RA on it sent it back and it got fixed.:cursing: Probably doug at customcbradios, would be my suggestion.

does the newest version include 12 meters too ? what (if any) differences/improvements are there vs. the initial version and the last version that folks started having issues with ?

I bought my S45HP back in Feb/March 2012, and its 10M only. Not sure if theres a newer version out yet.

I like DTB......but, Magnum radio's are not his favorite as I recall. That's the only reason I did not have his name on the list.

I think some members have had radio's done at Bell's and were happy.

can you convert these radios yourself? I know the old magnums you could by moving the jumper.

I bought mine from Sparky's, which I think is now out of business. Whoever did the tune/alignment on it there did a great job, because it has very little white noise, but still receives weak/far off stations very well. I mainly use mine on SSB, but the echo is nice on AM. Mine does not do 12 meters, either.

I do seem to remember a thread saying that the newer ones did not have the jumpers anymore, due to an FCC crackdown.

You can still do the freq. conversion yourself. Yes they started cutting off the little jumper pins and soldering the posts together in an attempt to deter people from converting from the default 10 meter only band. Yet the conversion board still remains which makes it easy to convert.

I highly doubt this is done to be a deterrent to opening up the 11M/freeband, but to be compliant with the FCC.

If it were me......I would look at some other brand of radio......."ANY OTHER" brand of radio than Magnum...

I bought one of those S 45 HP radios back in January, and from day 2 it was nothing but junk...Day 1 it worked just fine, but day 2 all hell broke loose, and it made 4 trips to the warranty shop over the next 4 months before I decided to cut my losses and get rid of the thing...

Worst radio I have bought in the last 30 years, and will be the last RF Limited radio I will ever buy...

FYI, I'm not the only person who had problems with the S45 HP...Look around on the Forums and you'll see quiet a few that had issues...Best I can tell, they are "Hit and Miss"...some people have had good luck with theirs, but if you get one that has problems, once you send it in for warranty work, it takes "4" weeks before the shop will even look at it! Then, if they don't get it fixed right, and you have to send it back again, then count on another 4 weeks before they get to it again!

Didn't the supply dry up for awhile? I see there available again. Maybe they worked on the bugs.

HEY ROBB! You talk to Sam lately.

haven't heard much from magnum lately.
