Omega Force Hp

I'm about to order one of these and i was going to convert it myself. I have read there really is no need to peak and tune them,so I figured I would save myself some dough, but now I don't know.

I don't trust myself too much inside a radio. But I don't want any magic tunes by a tech done to it. 50-60 watts will be enough for me. So how difficult would it be for a below novice to convert one if the radio doesn't have the jumper?

S45HP conversion

It's almost as easy as when there was a jumper. Just got mine recently, had to remove solder from where it was & solder "Con 3" instead of moving a jumper. Mind you, I'm 68 years old & my hands are far from steady but I had no problem.

As to tuning, I went without for now per cbradiomagazine.com review & am very satisfied!

Got mine from this guy but shipping was free then. Service was great.

If it were me......I would look at some other brand of radio......."ANY OTHER" brand of radio than Magnum...

I bought one of those S 45 HP radios back in January, and from day 2 it was nothing but junk...Day 1 it worked just fine, but day 2 all hell broke loose, and it made 4 trips to the warranty shop over the next 4 months before I decided to cut my losses and get rid of the thing...

Worst radio I have bought in the last 30 years, and will be the last RF Limited radio I will ever buy...

FYI, I'm not the only person who had problems with the S45 HP...Look around on the Forums and you'll see quiet a few that had issues...Best I can tell, they are "Hit and Miss"...some people have had good luck with theirs, but if you get one that has problems, once you send it in for warranty work, it takes "4" weeks before the shop will even look at it! Then, if they don't get it fixed right, and you have to send it back again, then count on another 4 weeks before they get to it again!
