Opinion= Which is better Galaxy 95T2 or Magnum S9/175

Well I just got a steal on a S9-175 so I will now do a hands on comparison on the 95T2 and S9-175 as I now own both. (y)

Interested to know how it performs. I am going to Vegas next year to get married by an Elvis:D, I wonder if I could pick up a bargain like yours.

cheers

It seems like what happens when I am radio shopping for a certain radio ... three things happen: 1) when I find the radio it's priced to high, 2) its trashed, or 3) I can't find one.

I wasn't really looking for the S9 as I have a Bots tuned 95T2 which I will keep but it was priced right so now I have two...(y)

I've had good luck with the Galaxy 99v2 so far if you're worried about drift issues. They
seem to have corrected the drifting with this model. I know it's not a HP radio but still performs well. Only around 316.00 Most places.

Since you now have both, it would be nice to hear YOUR opinions on the comparison between the two. Soon! (y)

For the purpose of this older thread the two radio's talked about are higher powered radio's. So to toss a 99 in there would be an apples to oranges comparison.

not trying to come across that way 42. I realize the 99 was not in the posters radio option list and is not high power. the 99v2 is a fairly new radio that isn't as bad for drifting as some of the other galaxy models. drift was mentioned in one of the post. This is the third time 9cidriver has followed up something I've posted with smart remarks. Just like to know why he feels the need to be smart all the time.

I have the 95T S9 and the 2970DX and 2970N2 and I gotta say a properly tuned 95T will run right along side the RCI 2970DX &N2 on SSB for what they are. I use mine on 10 meters all the time when the 10 meter band is open and always get great audio reports from the audiophiles drift is very minimal after 10 15 minutes. I use a none amplified mic a dynamic style RK 56 knock off with it on SSB and on AM I run a 575 astatic. the S9 is a door stop it has taken to many rides with ups to have some repair done I've givin up on that radio talks ok when it works. but with a lot of these radios it all depends on who and how they are set up.

Old thread but for AM ... the 95t2 wins ... Since AM is where I am mostly at the 95t2 gets better replies over all. Nothing against the S9 .... and if I used SSB a lot then like the S9 has the edge but for over the road AM taking ... 95T2 wins. Folks say Galaxy just has something extra for AM modulation.

I have to agree I’ve had an S9 and it was a great radio on sideband. But from what people say the Galaxy Radio across the board are real boomers on AM.
