Just was wondering if anyone has used one of these and what they thought about it ? I'm surely no amp expert but it looks AB and kind of resembles maybe a older Messenger amp ? I would certainly think it could do a clean 300 watts with 4 x 1446's ? Thanks

Hello Switch, I have not had that exact amp but 4 1446's should deliver 300 easily.
It does look like a messenger amp, and for what's it worth, when I look at that amp it says Billy Dean Ward to me. I know that sounds crazy but it looks like another amp I have seen that I am about 99% sure came from him after Messenger went away.
I had some contact with one of his family members after he mysteriously passed on and she had some mostly completed Messenger amps that were being sold.
Some of them just needed output transistors to be finished.
Maybe this is were some of those went.
Anyway, nice clean looking amp.

I'm sure your right Jeff ? After getting away for a handful of years my brain just isn't computing this stuff like it once did , I get bits and pieces or some things come back to my mind in time , I worked for the late Charlie The Candyman distributor for a few years before he passed in 08 (seems like yesterday !) he let me know a lot about the amp makers in passing from time to time ......I remember a guy named Ray who whould use his initials on the boards (he did good work as I recall) there also was a guy in Washington state and he did all the blue faced Palomar's , Galaxy's , Skippers , Magnums and the Cobra XL series amps , they were always made well and AB for the most part. Looks to me that it has become a more so MOSFET world since I came back ? Looks like RM Italy may have put some amp makers out of buisness ? Thank you for the reply Jeff and Happy 4th to you and your's . Switch.

As I recall that is exactly what happened. There were a large number of those that popped up on e-bay advertised as just drop in your finals. I can't remember what year this was.

I remember Charlie well, he was good people.
He would keep you on the phone for hours talking about stuff.
He gave us great deals on Amps and Radios.
I used to buy Magnum, Black Widow and Commander amps from him.
Sad when he passed.
I do remember the amps marked RT on the boards. 1-800-Toll Free used to help him build if I remember right.
A lot of stuff used to come out of So Cal.
There was a place called Warnock Electronics down in San Diego that built " Medical Devices" for a while before things got too hot with the FCC. They went on to build metal detectors and Scanners for Airports in the later years.
Swan, Siltronics , Palomar, everyone was down there.
I think RF parts came to be because of all of it.

Your not getting old are you?
Lol.
You have a great 4th Holiday as well, drink a cold beer for me.

Still regretting that I sold a pristine Cobra XL450 with four Motorola 454's. Bought it for $135 cash untested, so I did take a chance on it. It worked awesome. Got out of radio for a little bit, and sold it for $400. My bad! Wish I had that bad boy back.
