Palomar Electronics Max-Mod. Spoiler alert!

To put your feet under a workbench in my shop you have to be properly vetted.
All educational claims must be verified along with military service claims.
The length of employment claims is also verified any discrepancies and you are back on the sidewalk.

I think most jobs that don't involve riding on a garbage truck have a similar vetting process.

Nobody said I ever worked at any shop anywhere. That's not to say I haven't owned a radio tuned by you.
I never sold any radios. I have always been a amplifier repair facility, only. If you had one tuned by me you can bet it was to factory specification. NOT tuned for the GHOST WATTS. My services were not available to the general public, at any time. I was a factory repair center.

We are told such. But it’s not the case all too often. Affirmative Action broke the link between a record & stated competence.

Granted, the more technical, . . .

But it won’t explain the USN Ford nor other US Navy mishaps in design or manufacture.

And that’s before we get to crew competence in ship handling.

(Funniest yet is the Indian submarine that sank because a hatch was left open. “No, Pajit, noooo!”)

Many of the problems are due to labor forces that can hardly read and so many lack the ability to do any work up to a military standards. I have often heard management whiners saying that they don't want to use the proper techniques because it was too difficult or labor intensive. Most of these peoples Grandmothers were better ship builders than they will ever be. Why? Because grandma had an honorable work ethic. Same with the crews back then. Hasn't Affirmative Action been done away with? When I grade an candidate's notes by the interviewer's notation on race is forbidden. Veteran status and discharge type plays well for an applicant.

It's probably time to move this thread along to the next big innovation in stryker radios.
encoder replacement!
Just a while back I remember Mark19960 discussing during the live stream of a youtube CB shop how cheap the original encoders were on the stryker and anytone radios and that much better ones can be had.

I fully expect to see these come available for those who might want an upgrade very soon.

well it certainly isn't "news" that 10 meter and CB radios use cheap chinese encoders.

I think that Mark19960 said that ALPS probably had a good replacement.

Yes he did now that you mention it. I believe it was during an SRC livestream too wasn’t it?

But come on now, the factory one does the job even though it’s a bit cheap feeling and sloppy.

BUT... you are buying a CHEAP China radio so what do you expect? Kinda like looking out the window and seeing that’s it’s raining, going outside without shoes on and then bitching cause your feet are wet. Amirite?? Aye Tony, what’sa madda wit you?

yeah there was a new video on the tube today about a new encoder. Seems that mark1960 was way ahead of that learning curve
