Passed...

I think my upgrade took a week and a half. A friend got his license at hamcom and it was on the fcc website in 3 or 4 days. I couldn't believe how fast it was. Give it a couple of weeks before you worry too much.

I tested for Tech and General on 5-18-2013 got my call sign on 5-20-2013.
(2 days)
Went for Extra on 10-01-2016 and got my new call sign on 10-4-2016 (3 days)
So it must have been the shut down AND the increase of ham radio operators.

AND the increase of ham radio operators.
And before Budget cuts of 2017...
Also, last year FCC processed OVER 31,000 New Applications for Amatuer Radio.
So break that down aprox. 2000 to 3000 apps per month!
Thus said, break that down to average 22 business days Per Month, equates to 100++ EACH Day.
So in reality not bad considering the other work load and agenda they(FCC) must deal with!
I do remember about 5 years ago the Laurel Group of VEC's gave exams on Friday evening at the Boy Scout HQ in Indy. They uploaded testing results in real time.
Amazing some had their calls Monday afternoon and rest by Tuesday afternoon!!
However that has not been the norm for several years, again the norm for most testing sessions here in Ind, even if uploaded day of exams has been 7-10 business days from upload.

Your location? House? Your lot size etc...Tower? Big Trees? etc.:D

Hell I'm not even home, been gone since January LOL. Just prior to leaving FL for a work assignment I put that new 10 meter cb in my truck . Thats what got me started. I'll put something together for the house. Antenna stuff I've been thinking a lot about how to go about it and not deal with the HOA but need to scope out the back of the house and yard, I have ideas. I know I'I spend some $$$ on 'stuff'. I'll fabricate some kind of a deal for the antenna(s), and I'll figure it out. I like to do my homework and so forth. I need learnt
