Any idea on a resistor change or something to get a little more audio out of this Pearce Simpson Guardian 23? Thanks for any insight.15A576D2-1583-4985-9752-99091D9A45A3.jpeg

I have a Pearce Simpson Pussycat 23. My understanding is the Pearce CBs were almost all Cybernet Chassis Mainboards. The knowledge that was passed on to me was FCC legal tune job and nice power mic. I did have the mic pic out re arranged to Cobra pin out to try various mics without issue. I am happiest with the ProComm basic power mic. The one that looks like this, but power mic. Various brand names.

Change C63 on the cathode of V-9B from a .1uF to a .22uF - 50V (or higher). That will raise the gain of the mic amp 10-15% with the added bonus of fattening up the tone a little. To get a little more gain without changing the tone at all, change R62 from a 47K to a 68K. This change will raise the plate voltage by 10-15 volts raising the gain a little.
