BTW, anyone can make a number of meaningless posts and that does not make them trustworthy.

Nor will time served mean anything.

I refer to the guy that started this and another that was very technically proficient and was involved in a section here at one time.

Transferring responsibility to arbitrary rules is meaningless.

Caveat emptor is the only rule to use in self protection.

I refrain from voting.

If you are naive enough to buy from a one post wonder, I wish you well.

I'll not validate nor condemn a rule that will in no way protect you.

Yeah, I can do bad all by myself.

74...if you and Mackmobile43 (whose quote this is) don't like what I write on this forum, then maybe you should add me to your Ignore List.

This whine of yours and Macks is unbecoming a MAN. So man up and quit crying you crybabies.

Oh yeah..and I love you brother !!

Good thing we don't value your opinions else we'd committed suicide long ago.

You should take your own advice and get a life which on this forum deals mostly with radio theory.

In the radio forums I talk radios....unlike you who post off topic personal attack whines. For not having regard about my opinions you sure do talk back to me a lot so what is up with you?

Your actions only serve to convict yourself of your own depravities.

But I love you anyway brother !!

Hi all
I'm a newbie and if any of you have seen my 'newbie' thread you will see why I have joined.

I'll be quite blunt. It's because I have something to sell.

I can totally understand the view that most members seem to have regarding some sort of loyalty period before being able to access certain areas of the forum. I am a member of many forums that subscribe to that system.

However, could I throw in a counter argument.

There are probably thounsands of people like me who for one reason or another have equipment that they wish to part with. Equipment that could be of great interest to your membership. But, like me they know nothing about the subject and so would be unable to contribute to the threads in the forum.

My question is...would you rather be open to receive knowledge of equipment availability or close your doors to people who know nothing about your subject?

Dave.

I don't know a damn thing either, never stopped me from posting.

there's always ebay. regardless of whether there is a rule stating that a member must have a certain number posts or not, most members would not buy from another member who just joined the forum. essentially, you'd be wasting your time.

Dave. What it boils down to is that in past history on just about every radio forum there is, people have joined up, posted items for sale that were either misrepresented or never shipped.
Then they disappear like a fart in the wind, never to be seen or heard from again.
This is what causes the attitudes we have towards someone joining up and in their very first post listing a bunch of stuff for sale.
Please do not take this as an accusation against you suggesting that this is your motive.
That is just the way of the wicked world, my friend.
If everyone was honest and good for their word, it would not be this way.

All very fair comments and you are obviously more experienced in these matters.

If you read my 'newbie' post you will see why I have come to you rather than eBay which I have been a member of for 7 years and use a lot. It has its limitations particularly for the more 'specialist' items.

As far as the "specialty" items, you have to be creative and careful in your wording.

Being creative does not neccesarily get it read and it certainly does not get it to a world market.
Here in England when you submit your advert it goes into eBay.co.uk......not .com
