Yep. If you don't have chicken wire you could wrap a joint of pipe with aluminum foil, or a mish-mash of wire, chain link, etc.

I'll likely set it up on my metal 8 x 10 shed for GP and run it to see how it does.

Well you know, I'd think the chicken wire would be pretty broadbanded since the effective diameter of the radiator is a couple of inches!

Even a wire ground plane can cover a lot of ground in that part of the spectrum.

I guess I'll have to get it out from behind the shed and check the bandwidth. And the wire is wrapped around a 4" PVC pipe.

Yes my bodged together wire gp had 2 megs of bandwidth comfortable @ 1.5 either end.

Nonsense! I don't drink beer but I used to be an avid fan of the beverage, maybe I'm having sympathy pangs for the antenna in the lead?
