Well thanks fellas, but that antenna is just a product of natural smarta$$ness, not any technological genius idea. I always wondered what it would be like to make an antenna out of beer/coke cans. Truth is, it was a pain in the butt to build!

Now I have to figure out what to do with it. Ebay?

Why would you want to sell it? It isn't the antenna, but the preparations for making it!

(In case you didn't know, all the holes should be on the bottom!)

Well the official winner of the home brew 1/4 wave antenna build off is the beer can and ash tray antenna.

And even though the chicken wire and 5/8 wave tied for second the chicken wire wins that because it is a 1/4 wave and the 5/8 is not, sorry.

And even though my wire 1/4 didn't get a single vote I declare it the 3nd place winner because I made the the poll I as all knowing dictator of this thread declare it so.:tongue:

I'd like to thank the academy and all who made this possible: Ben Franklin, Marconi, DeForest, Ohm, Walmart, Lowe's, and Adolph Coors and Sons.

A 20 fan are you, Homer?

Actually, I think I ended up going to both. I'm in both places so much I lose track...

Not a nascar person, but I am commercially competitive. The Home Depot company mascot is a cartoon character do-it-yourselfer dubbed Homer.

I work for The Home Depot, thus my username: Homer Big Box store.

The fuzzy photo of my chicken wire antenna with me in it was in front of the store. All in fun

Ah! Sorry!

I don't know whether any part of this antenna came from HD, but the stainless bolts and nuts for the yagi came from the Urnge store. So did the mailbox I recently bought (and have yet to put up), the electric edger I used yesterday, my mower, and pile of other stuff around here!

Your award certificate and trophy will not be arriving soon, thanks for playing the family feud.
