Power supply's

PowerMax pm3-100 received & hooked up. Works great nice and quiet. No noise from it in receive or locally heard transmit. Don't have a ground wire attached in the provided location but will probably do so. Need to do some wire management. o_O

So did you just flick the side switch to locked voltage and go with it??

Turned switch to Fixed Output. Adjustable voltage pot decal states 13.0 -- 16.5. Adjusted it to 13.5 and let it run for 12 hours before hooking up the Amp to it. I like the look of those four red 40 amp fuses sticking out the front side.

Got in the 1200/900w (220/120VAC) HP server supply. This thing is small. Shown with the breakout board that had the small terminals. (Bigger terminal board on way).

8 1/2" length x 3 1/2" wide x 1 1/2" tall without the black pull handle.

Stay tuned for more info. After dinner.

So it came up 12.1-12.2 on the meter. Actual was 12.3. After bumping up the voltage to 12.5 it flipped to 11.8. So I moved it back to 12.4 on the meter and got a 12.5 final on my meter. (y)

I'm happy with that. For reference it's the HP model DPS-1200FB-1 A Rev 02F (aka HSTNS-PD19)

on this side adjustment it's the 2nd screw from the right or 3rd from the left per say.

I asked john to send some extra 8 awg lugs and he said he would. He said this is the part number 8-4NS JST but it only shows noninsulated lugs so im not sure.

Linked below is the insulated ring connector that will fit the 8/M4 screw and 8 gauge wire. The overall width is slightly smaller too, 7.87mm, compared to the 8-4NS at 8mm, so it should be a slightly better fit between the terminals. It's almost twice as long too.

The insulated part can be pulled off the ring connector if need be. It can then be insulated with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing for a slimmer profile fit.

Yep, that looks more like it. You rock!

I use a RD power 2kw-12 150+amp supply, zero noise on transmit and receive, built by K5IZ out of Texas, Paid about $220US about 3 years ago and still running my dx1600 with out skipping a beat. Not sure if he is still selling these but highly recommended.
