President George FCC - CONFIRMED!

Yeah, no power, no extra channels. But less features should cost less. The radio to beat is the Ares2, so if they are in the game, it will be just below the $200 mark.
Looks like a step up from the McKinley but below the lincoln 2 plus. Ehhh I'll pass on this one, it's not an export and it'll probably price itself out of the game for most.

It's hard to beat the Ares 2 and q5n2 these days. The only ones to outdo it will be qixiang with their q6 pro, hopefully.

The original George was not seen much here, like the original Lincoln.
I got my first one (lincoln) in the mid 80's that was brought over from the Europe, at that time they were being built for President Electronics of Belgium by Uniden, before President France or CRI
This is back when you had to do foot work to find export radios.
President has always asked top tier prices for there stuff so I am not surprised that they still do.
I would have rather seen a new case style over the 980/Grant II chassis as they had already tainted the reputation with bad displays in the 980 and the less than stellar roll out of the Grant II with RX problems.
I liked the look of the older chassis better.

Confirmation that the George FCC is on it's way!

Reminds me of a rebadged Uniden 980,I'm guessing though that quality Control is better with President than Uniden in the Sense that the screen on it hopefully won't fail prematurely so to speak, looks nice but $387 is a little steep in my opinion!!
