This reminds me, I have one that I should dig out and start using again. The original George was not seen much here, like the original Lincoln.
I got my first one (lincoln) in the mid 80's that was brought over from the Europe, at that time they were being built for President Electronics of Belgium by Uniden, before President France or CRI
This is back when you had to do foot work to find export radios.
President has always asked top tier prices for there stuff so I am not surprised that they still do.
I would have rather seen a new case style over the 980/Grant II chassis as they had already tainted the reputation with bad displays in the 980 and the less than stellar roll out of the Grant II with RX problems.
I liked the look of the older chassis better.

Looks like the Uniden 980, hopefully the quality is better and the radio doesn't have a screen issue like the Uniden one does!
This is the case when they first release a new radio. Here you go gentlemen, and with a hefty price tag too.

Bells is honest enough to say coming soon.
So does this mean Uniden/President is no longer making their own boards ? That would be the end of an era if that's the case. There was a time when having a Uniden board in a CB meant you had a top of the line product. The last few years not so much (looking at you 980!). This also means that Ranger (ugh) might be the only other company still making radios without Qixiang boards.......and boy does it show LOL!This is a Qixiang radio
