Hi,

I have a President Lincoln and the tuning knob has gone haywire. Sometimes it doesn't change channel as you click, then it goes backwards or skips a channel.

Is it the channel switch that needs changing or something else?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers, Steve

channel selector switch is bad.if you cant find a new one for the lincoln,(not available from uniden anymore) get a replacement from ranger for the 2950,its the same part.

President Lincoln channel selector

Thanks - any idea where you can get them from? They seem fairly scarce in the UK.

If Cleaning dont work..

I have been able to bore a shallow hole in between the 2 green wafers and inject contact cleaner, that usually cleans out the oxidation.

If that dont work, you can get replacement controls from:

t they are available from CB world lots of uniden parts.

Problem solved

Roger was right. I drilled a small hole, big enough for the nozzle of my switch cleaner. After a couple of attempts I managed to get the switch working perfectly again.

I also took the opportunity to strip out the LCD and replace the white
backing paper, which I had stained with a previous overzealous application
of switch cleaner when trying to sort the switch out.

Looks and works like new now and is busy monitoring beacons from around Europe on Sporadic E as I write this.

Thanks, Steve G0KYA
