I have this radio need some suggestions on a good mic for this radio. All I have is the stock mic..

I run the ASTATIC RD104E ROAD DEVIL AMPLIFIED mic on both of mine. I get great reports with them.

I have used the D104M6 and the 575 both worked well. This was in a standard P/U so background noise was not an issue.

first of all great find . definately one of my favorites. ive used astatic 575 mobile and
tuner plus 2 and 3 on base. got me drooling ,lol

I have used the Road Devil and gotten good reports, but the D104M6 seems to sound better to most folks (with my voice). Either one should work well.

Further testing with Heil HC5 element in the stock mic (not enough gain), and the Texas Ranger SRA-158 worked well. Out of all of them, the D104M6 seemed to sound the absolute best for me.

Astatic 575-M6 if you can find one is the way to go,astatic 1104c was an excellent base microphone for it.

What about the 2018 extreme?? Good mic's IMO. I use one on a uniden PC122xl. Sounds good.

Funny thing, the only rig my 2018 Extreme did NOT sound good on was my Lincoln. I was doing a local radio check, and listening to it myself with a friend that has a similar voice (baritone) talking on my Lincoln. It sounded like it wasn't matched up right, and cut out a lot of the lows and mids. A DX listener told me it sounded like it was the wrong impedance. You may have different results, and I was using an adapter from 4 pin to the Lincoln.
