Just couldnt help myself !

I am moving my FT-857D to mobile duties with the ATAS-120A antenna so I needed something else for the shack..

Just ordered the Icom IC-7000 and the LDG IT-100 Tuner, it will be here on Monday ! Pictures to follow!

I will have the YT-100 Tuner and LDG FT Meter up for Grabs shortly, both are a month old and like new condition...

You will love em. I love my AT-7000 tuner and IC-7000 into an Ameritron AL-811 and Ameritron ATR-15 but I need to sell all my gear as I am getting hit hard with this (recovering economy) which is looking up in this summer of recovery. But really, you will love the setup very much, it is awesome for sure.

I was a little worried about getting a Mobile Radio for shack use as I dont have alot of room for gear. I looked at a few other smaller format radios, but I really needed something that would do VHF/UHF as well.

When I bought the FT-857D I knew it would be mobile at some point, I'm just lucky that I was able to swing it this quick.

Well I'll be going to the ARRL Convention tomorrow in Boxboro MA, I have a few odds and ends I need to pick up, hopefully I will find the stuff in the Flea Market area..

I'll post a full report and pics on Monday when it gets here !

icom

Let us know when it arrives and settles down for operations what connections were made and settings for digital..

I sure like my 857/120 combo in my PU, and just added a new 857 to replace the 817 that was here in the house. So'd I'd be interested in moving a YT-100 in to replace the Z-100. So let out a yell when it goes on the block.

Enjoy the 7000, I've no experience but have heard great things from others.

Its HERE !!!

I have spent all day playing with the new Rig and its awesome !! I also got the FT-857D in the truck and its also working Beautifully with the ATAS-120 ..

I do have an issue with HRD and DM780, if anyone has a MFC100.DLL file I could use it, cant find it anywhere and its not a part of WIN7 ..

Pictures coming !!

Did you google "MFC100.DLL download" ?? Looks like lots of sites have it. You don't have to run their scans to download the file.

Ya but I did manage to get all the dll's I needed.

Now to get the work around to actually work hehehe.

I guess HRD is getting a few fixes in the near future, as this is a known problem with the RigBlasters ..

Pictures as promised..

The Rig Tuner and my new QSL Cards
A Legacy 7" LCD which has crappy resolution but its about 6 years old and came out of my old show truck.

Nice, Hook it up to your computer monitor. It is nice and big. Let us know how well it works with HRD. Like your QSL cards.

I wish I had the cables to hook it up to the laptop screen, I'm sure it would look much better. What would be cool is to have a computer rig control that looked just like the screen only bigger..

Ok as far as working with HRD, it works just fine until you try to do Digital with a RigBlaster PnP . Evidently there are some COM issues with keying up the RB PnP from DM780 there is a work around using a program that this kid made up and it works but man was it painful to get going.

A e-mail to Ned at West Mountain and he is suppose to e-mail me a fix until Simon makes some changes to the program. Ned said he spoke with Simon a week or so ago and Siman said he would be working on the com routines.

I'll do up a review of the IC-7000 and HRD as soon as I get a chance, the learning curve on the radio was a little steep but I think I have a handle on it now, big change from a Yaesu ..

I love the rig, the preamp really pulls out the signals and I have been able to work everyone I can hear so far, even made a contact with an Air Mobile USAF KC10 today which was pretty cool.

To hook it up to a laptop screen would almost be impossible unless it was through HRD, most laptops I have been around only have video out.

Very nice looking radio, nice screen compared to the 857. Were you on AO-51 for the 1100 Z pass this morning? I was pointed into some trees when I thought I heard K8YSE call to MED.

Very nice QSL card

Yup that was me on the AO-51, I tried to work 2 passes today with the budget set up. wasnt the best but it does work. I am sure it will be alot better with an Elk antenna which is on the way. I was also told that 17 degree's would be a good start point for a fixed elevation and to adjust the antenna at a 45 degree angle in the mount as this is the best orientation for the Elk.
Anyway we shall see how that all works out, I hope the antenna gets here before the end of the week as I am on vacation ..

KB3IFH made up my QSL Cards, I need to take a pic of the back side as well, pretty cool !
