Question about dynamike on Cobra 29

OK, I've changed out the resistor, it's definitely louder through my talk back and swings better on my watt meter. What, in layman's terms, did switching the resistor do. I appreciate it.

Yeah, they sure aren't bashful about taking a man's cash to screw up his radio.

The D9 is clipped in my 25 ltd, i'm going to put it back together tonight.

If you want to waste your time go ahead and put the limiter back in. I have never heard a Cobra AM radio sound overmodulated with the limiter clipped unless a power mic is used.
Granted some export radios sound awful with the limiters clipped but regular single final AM CB radios don't as long as you use only a stock mic.
