(Leaking over from my ham side!!)

has anyone ever tried an End Fed Halfwave on 11m???

I know hams use them a lot because they have the right harmonic relationships such that build it for the lowest band of your choice and it will also resonate at the multiples.....

But just wondering if anyone had ever tried one for ..... say like a "field day" use?

Just curious......

I currently run an EFHW multiband antenna for 80-10m. You need a 49:1 transformer to match it on the harmonics for a half decent match. The higher the frequency the more complicated the pattern becomes and the more gain that is developed. Why not make one for a much lower frequency like 4.5MHz and operate it on the 6th harmonic for some gain? It would be about 105 feet long. Here is my home made 49:1 transformer. 20200831_100938.jpg
