I was able to delete what I had posted, there is an edit button right below the post that allows to change, delete or add what you need.

u have 2 b logged in 2 see the edit button on ur post,
if ur logged in and do not see an edit button on ur post, then something wrong
will likely need more info for someone to help u here...

Just throwing this out there because I MAY have replicated your problem. I just changed skin colors to a deep blue background and a white "primary color" (as found in the ad styler, just above the About Us on the bottom left of the page).
White text on dark blue was soothing on the eyes and I liked it until I discovered that the "Edit", "Delete", etc... buttons were part of the primary color scheme. White buttons on a white background = invisible.
You should be able to confirm that bu clicking and dragging the mouse across the page to highlite the text. It should cause hidden text to show up.

I do believe there is a limit on the time to edit your post. As marconi mentioned there is a "brief" time to edit and then it's hermetically sealed for ever!!!LOL as Johnny Carson would say(hermetically sealed envelopes when he did his carmack skit!)
Perhaps this is what you are or aren't seeing really.
I don't know what the time period allowed to edit is though, that would be a question for the mods or mole.

OK I just checked the settings for editing or deleting your own posts. Currently the setting is set for 1440 minutes which is 24 hours. this allows PLENTY of time to correct for typos or after thoughts when reading over something that you posted after 24 hours has expired you cannot edit or delete your own posts.In the past we have had people go back and delete there posts weeks later which really screwed up the flow of some threads.Why some people feel the need to do that is completely beyond me. We have also had people get caught in lies and edit their posts to say "That's not what I said".
I just checked on a post I did 16 minutes ago, and no delete button. I can edit it, I just can't get rid of it.

I made a post earlier today and didn't see an EDIT button either. I refreshed the page and still nothing. Then I looked again and realized that I had not hit the POST REPLY button like I thought I did.

delete, i don't remember ever using a delete function to be honest with you in the 4 years i have been coming here off and on.
if i messed up really bad like post in the wrong thread or something else, i just opened the edit function, deleted the unrelated text and replaced it with sorry i posted in the wrong thread...
i'm not sure if that function was around before, someone will correct me on that, but I have seen where other members have asked for the mods to delete a post on various occasions, which leads me to believe that that function was not available, but others will post if it was available and i just don't remember.
could be that the function was removed, because as the captain mentioned above, sometimes that messes up the flow of threads when trying to sort disagreements or other issues.
