I want an old ham radio for starter radio. I like old stuff. What band or bands are good to start. I was looking at a heathkit hw101 it looked nice and in the price range I can afford. Probably why i like old stuff its cheaper

For a newbie the 101 series Yaesus can be a little more difficult to tune with out
damaging the sweep tube finals.
The hybrid Kenwoods are more tolerant of mistakes with the 6146 finals.
A 520-s or 520-se would make a great first glow in the dark rig.
