I wonder about the accuracy of some pix. The Midland 13-898 depicted there is shown as a handheld when in fact it is a 23 channel AM/SSB base unit. I have one in my basement. It was the first radio I ever had. Maybe it was a fluke that the only one I checked was wrong.

Ooops just noticed. They have the same model number posted as both a handheld AND a base.

Yep. And weighed a TON! But sure sounded sweet with a Turner +2 mic. Eventually sold it and got a Simba. Big mistake.
The Simba had SSB and looked cool, but that's about it.
