Mobile Ram 1500 antenna

So I got so frustrated with mounting an antenna to the truck I pretty much gave up and went with a Wilson 5000 mag mount. SWR 1.3 to 1. My friend had a striker a 10 mag mount put that on my truck SWR down to 1.04 to 1. On the analyzer. That is with a striker 955HPC. Now I found a ranger 2970N4 with an Astatic 575 locally that I purchased. Will I be able to use that mag mount? I highly doubt it but maybe. Have not installed the radio yet. Don’t have a long enough power cord. From trying to install an antenna in the driver side back stake pocket I do have LMR 400 but the mounts are horrible. Any recommendations? I could not get the SWR‘s with 102 inch whip below 1.4 to 1. I do have a AA 55 antenna analyzer. Need help. Thank you.
FYI
I also have a 102" stainless whip with a spring. Right or wrong, I did the following "science fair".
Using a Breedlove Quick-Disconnect Mount installed on a Breedlove Stake Pocket Mount located on the forward left (driver's side) stake pocket on my "aluminum" 2019 F-350.
Total length of the Breedlove Quick-Disconnect Mount from top to bottom: 4.490"
Length of spring without the 3/8" stud: 4.275"
Length of whip: 102".
Total length = 110.765"
I loosened the set-screw on the feral at the base of the whip, removed the whip and trimmed-off (Dremel Cutting Wheel) just enough material to obtain a total of 108" from the bottom of the Breedlove mount where the coax connects to the top of the whip.
Right or wrong......it works and the average SWR is 1.3:1.
I also have a (trimmed) 6' Firestick Fiberglass Antenna and have an acceptable SWR with the spring. The diameter of the fiberglass antenna is considerably larger than the stainless whip and at highway speeds, the fiberglass whip with the spring bends-over much more than the stainless whip and the transmit and receive decreases.
I removed the spring from the fiberglass antenna and trimmed the antenna and have an acceptable SWR.

And you would be wrong. It is as I stated. I have the IP address of all the offending accounts and they are linked to one former member.

Same person using a different name?

Yes, he has been banned from the forum, and continues to sign up under different user names.
He has a " problem" when he is not taking his meds properly.
There are things that go on behind the front page here, we get spammers, troublemakers and the list goes on.

Hey Nick, I have a 2012 ram and am using a breedlove pocket mount (4 degree) with a sirio performer be 5000. Coax runs inside bed and into compartment under rear seat thru existing plug. Have a low garage, so works fine getting under 7 foot door. Swr is at 1.1:1---1.4:1 after tuning, have yet to put an antenna tester on it.....thinking of getting a rug expert. Talks and receives great, breedlove mounts are way good shit, uploaded a file of the setup with a 102 and spring, but you should get the idea. Best part of sirio is it gold's down flat on tonneau cover. Yeah, I know, get some reflection off the back of cab, but life ain't perfect

Yes please to pictures. I would highly appreciate it. Power cord should be showing up today for the 2970N4. I really like the Breedlove mount but the one I got did not fit right.

My breedlove mount was excellent, got a passthrough with so239 for the whip, and another for the base of the sirio. Think the mount was like 1 3/4" or so I length. Bullring makes a kit to cut the plastic cover on the bed, cheap and works great with a standard router. I sent pic of 192 whip with extension, swr almost flat. Like I say, my garage door is 7 foot, so I can pull in, and drop the sirio down without getting wet, and it is about 1.1:1.

Yeah, see you have the ram box, if you look at mine you won't have to remove the plastic, the bullring setup uses a router bit with bearing, and a small sawblade, when you're done the stake pocket hole is perfectly cut, and the breedlove with the 4vdegree angle makes antenna sit nice and straight. See you've got grooves where mine is flat. Don't believe that will be an issue

I appreciate it. Well…. Hooked up the radio and swr through the roof. With the Stryker A10 mag mount. Stryker radio perfect. I guess the mag mount won’t work with the 2970N4. I didn’t think it would. Rig expert aa55 Analyzer says it is perfect. I will call Breedlove today and get things rolling.

Nick, I could be remembering this incorrectly, but if the swr of your antenna is good, then that is not going to change. I know this is fairly common when people add an amp in line, this doesn’t change the swr of the antenna system, it has to do with a mismatch. The tech guys can explain.

Ok. I may send the radio out to have it gone through. Talked to Q5 communication about it. The radio was used so who knows. I am very new to all of this. I was just wondering if maybe because the amp in the radio? Analyzer says 50 ohms SWR is 1.1 on channel 20. 45 db, x is.02. Antenna is set. With the striker this morning I had contacts in Michigan New York Idaho. That was with the Stryker
