ranger rci 2960jp

I have one in the box like new, bought it from my neighbor who ran a cb radio shop, he needed a little money, that was in 2002, I used it for a couple of weeks, then put it back in the box and on a shelf, probably should sell, what is it worth? He said it was set up as good as you could get it pulls a lot of amps, It will dim the lights when you key the mic, but will really reach out, I believe he said you could turn it up to 250 watts and has some tweeks like a slight echo, he got a divorce and never came back for it that's been 16 yrs I guess he ain't coming back

These are better known as the Connex 4300-300

Hi guys I just bought one of these. As you can see it’s a 2960 fjp. It has the 11 meter mod. Any info about this radio will be very helpful. Thanks

ive got 1 of the original 2960's with the final amp on it , i cant find anyone to work on it , would yall knoq of someone that might want to tackle that thing , any help would be appreciated

According to post above, it's a 3600 board so most techs should be familiar with that part. Maybe it's the amplifier section they don't want to mess with

ive messaged atleast 4 cb repair shops and when i twll them the model number , they never message back , this is the 2960 without the freq counter so its a very rare unit

well for starters , it would only transmit a very short distance , i found 1 problem was that 1 of the mods was loose which was vr -13 , i tried to resolder it but it accually fell out so its probably not going to transmit at all now , it will recieve just fine , if i could get my hands on another mod , i might be able to fix it myself

The 2960 was a promo radio and they only built about 200 for a few select dealers so I was told years ago. They probably bring a premium price these days. I would think any decent tech could work on it since it's a common board. The amplifier section should be like the old orange display large heat sink 2970.

73’s. I am currently working on rebuilding one 2960FJP. I have two of them the first one (serial # 137) is working 100% but could not find the FJP faceplate so I used a 158FB4 faceplato to finish that rebuild. The one I am currently working (Serial # 536) I am waiting on some parts, The board is identical to the SS-158 series. 2960FJP: EPT690010Z / SS158: EPT690011D. I use the service manual from the SS-158EDX to work on the board and get the parts #. Here is some pictures:
