Your pics reminded me of my old mobile set up. It was my beater 94 Honda Accord. 2950dx2 mounted very similarly to yours... right on the side of the console. 636 and external speaker (no dsp) firing right at me. Had a Texas star 250 killer B under the seat. This drove a 108 inch stainless whip breedlove ball mounted to the rear quarter. It was a kick ass set up on the last cycle.. worked the world ssb 10-11 meters.. had a lot of fun with it. Worked into Europe driving east on my way to work in the mornings and Australia/New Zealand on the westerly evening commute home.

I posted a thread on my install a few years ago. I miss my old set up...

Trunk mount was an eBay special. AFAIK they don’t make em anymore. I know you can get other makes of trunk mount and screw a Wilson on them. Can’t remember the model. I’m sure someone here could point you in the right direction. Radio is mounted with a Ram mount. It’s the RAM-111. It’s bolted to the floor. On top of the ram mount is a Workman DXX bracket.

That’s a sweet rig. I’d love to run a big whip. Might have to drill the roof. Wilson seems to work okay for now. The worldwide Accord has a nice ring to it.

SCB and SCB-S Antennas
SCB_sm.jpg
SCB_longsm.jpg

Designed to meet the most demanding applications, the SCB sets new standards in electrical performance as well as durability. The large diameter, high efficiency coil is computer designed to the optimum length to diameter ratio. This results in a coil capable of easily covering 120 channels at 1000 watt power levels. The lower half of the SCB is constructed from 3/8 inch diameter, solid stainless steel rod which is virtually indestructible. A stainless steel spring is mounted on he top of the coil where shock absorption is most effective. The SCB is 46 inches tall. The SCB-S is only 35 inches tall. Both are available in red, white, black and blue (shown). It mates with 3/8" X 24 threaded mounts.

Used one Years ago, worked pretty damn well!!!(y)

Lighter version for less load on mount:
Model HQ-27M
A combination of two great Hustler products, the HQ-27 antenna and the HLM deluxe truck lip mount.

The mount features a swivel ball to assure proper positioning of the antenna and includes a small breakaway connector for easy coax cable installation. The antenna is 57 inches tall and includes 17 feet of coax.

From their beginning in Cleveland, Ohio, Hustler Antennas have been produced in the U.S.A. for over 40 years. Since 1985 Hustler Antennas have been manufactured and marketed by New-Tronics Antenna Corporation in Mineral Wells, Texas, on the western edge of the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex. Many of the antenna models designed in Cleveland, especially the amateur radio models, are still in production today.

Having a higher usable bandwidth sounds appealing. I feel like it may be worth picking one of these up and comparing it to my Wilson. Do you know if there is any documentation of one of these being hooked up to an analyzer? Would love to see em if you got em. My Wilson is pretty narrow banded.
