Really annoying roger beeps

Never heard a roger beep that annoyed me. A lot of people though are small minded and annoyed easily. Not a fan of noise toys if you want to annoy people a roger beep is not the way to go.

You want to do something like a VCO sweep on key up kind of like a Browning.

Alot of people find the 2 tone beep on a Sadelta echo mic very annoying. Friend of mine has a vr9000 with a bump bump, it's pretty cool to play with, but it was installed on the squelch knob for some reason.

Most often for two reasons.

1) The customer said "I don't use the squelch, and I want the pitch knob on the front panel."

2) The squelch control has the correct 50k resistance value to match the bump-bump circuit and a "PA" switch to turn it off.

The wire colors are for a Cobra 2000. This gadget was meant to be wired to a 4-pin socket, taking the place of the radio's original 5-pin socket. The Cobra 29 would have what's marked as "pin 4 T-R com Vio" connected directly to the one marked "pin 2 wire black". Those would go to pin 1 on a 4-pin radio. The one marked "pin 1 wire red" won't matter on a 29 that already has the beep's audio hooked up. "pin 5 tx gray" goes to the wire that comes out of the roger beep that keys the radio. And "pin 3 rx brown" would go to the wire you pulled off of pin 4 of the radio's mike socket. This way the relay now controls the radio's transmit and receive. The roger beep keys the relay, not just the radio now. The speaker may have a "pop!" sound when you unkey with this hookup. Fair warning.

There is an equation for calculating rodger beeps that I have used for over 30 years,
I found it to be accurate enough for general use.

I am looking for some stupidly annoying roger beeps for my cobra 29. You know, the kind of roger beeps that annoy the hell out of people, similar to ones you hear when mexican skip is rollin'. Thanks

You should get a Stryker 955 and the software and you can program your own

Cool! Now I can put those four notes from the opening guitar lick of "Shine on you crazy diamond" into a roger beep. And when someone asks "what's that?", I can tell them that it's a roger Roger. Although I'm told those four notes were the idea of David Gilmour and not Roger Waters. Calling a "Roger David" just wouldn't be the same.

I don’t mind the roger beep as much as the way many of them are way louder than the persons voice. Some of them you can hear way after the voice is gone. What’s annoying is not being able to hear comments because I have to turn the volume down to be able to get the roger beep to an acceptable level.
