its not the 2000, look closely its the 1000 although they look nearly identical. Two things I've never seen on fleaBay, the CPI Video Monitor and the CPI wall wart.
Also, the 142/140GTL was a better deal than the 2000/25GTL. Gee, I wonder which they were trying to clear out of the warehouse?
Yep, you're right. Knew I should have learned to read for comprehension at some point.its not the 2000, look closely its the 1000 although they look nearly identical.
Lol I know they were not cheapWow, who could afford a radio back then?
Yeah, $400 back then is about $1700 today.Lol I know they were not cheap
Well... they were the cell phones of the 70s. Technology costs!Yeah, $400 back then is about $1700 today.
I got 40 channels on USB, 40 channels on AM, 40 channels on LSB and 40 channels on PA. Funny, there's never anybody on PA.I like the add for the Cobra 142 claiming 120 channels. It was all about the advertising. Then they say 80 of them are SSB.
This is so true, people coming into the hobby now don't realize how "good" they have it except the radios today are inferior quality to the old ones. The CPI stuff was easily over a grand in the 80s. I remember my father and I went to Korvettes and they had a sale on the Cobra 1000gtl, it was clearance for $150. Yep, we bought one, used that radio for a few years then gave it to my uncle.Good radios were not cheap back then.
My Midland 13-895 23 channel SSB radio lightened my wallet a little over $300 new.
