I do not ever remember discussing this on the forum. Three questions in a set.

1. Who got you involved in CB radio?
2. What year did you first talk on a CB radio?
3. What model CB radio was your first time?

My answers are:

1. My father, his handle was "Pinwheel"
2. 1979
3. Robyn LB-23a in my fathers Chevy Suburban with a Shakespeare big fiberglass whip.

Illegal FM station, moved on to CB 6 Channel Pony, several 23 channel AM and AM/SSB radio's, about 1985 or so, then got my license.
Repaired lots of them dabbled wittth PLL systems expanding radio's etc added xtal 10.695 filters ( most used here FM after it became free here) so bleed through was a problem the xfilter solved most of that, see it as a early version of the channel guard.

1. 2 part answer;
A. My Sergeant ... CB and AM world

B. My father in law ... SSB Freeband world

2. 1976 AM world, 1979 SSB world

3. 1st radio sharp_500.jpg mounted in a 72 Ford van with Lafayette twin antenna system.

2nd radio mounted as a base with a Radio Shack 1/2 wave Omni. This is what started a somewhat serious addiction...I mean hobby.

These depicted radios are pictures borrowed as my radios have been gone for some time.
