I have a minty Royce 1-642 AM/SSB base with the matching desk mic on the shelf. AM is very nice, but SSB is phenomenal. 25W on my Bird 43A wattmeter. People rave about the audio clarity in all modes. If you happen to find a Royce in good shape, keep it.

Well, the guy I bought my NIB GE 3-5813B on Ebay has some NIB ones. A 1-604&1-658 NIB
The 1-658 sure has pretty chrome and wood grain face

Paint Shaker, Yes I do remember that AD.
Try that with some of the "export" radios made today and see if it works when you get done.....

I doubt much of any radio would work well after being in a paint shaker.

I remember listening to Ronnie as a kid. Also Joe Walsh of the Eagles and Larry Junstrom of .38 special and formerly of Lynyrd Skynyrd are also both musicians and hams. Larry's call is K4EB...known for electric bass.
