For Retro CB Guy, the requested Console V/Arduino frankentroller pics. AKA it's ugly, but it works.

Solder connections to the back of the main board where the custom chip used to reside:

I never did recreate the channel 9 switch function. Just too lazy to wire it in.

Now here's the sad part. The disk the Arduino sketch was saved on took a dive a few years ago. If I wanted to change anything now I'd have to start from scratch om the programming side.

Looks great on the outside ! I thought you'd have extra frequencys too though. I like your approach though and thanks for posting ! I found a different brand of this Console 5 in Aussie land and someone had did a unique cool channel mod I love !

The coverage from this now is 26.71.50 to 27.7050 !

The issue is on several frequencys out of CB band the RX audio leaves (also on channel 1 and sometimes 2 and 3) but shows RX on signal meter and I've confirmed it myself as the radio is with me and it does RX as I've transmitted to these deaf channels thru dummy loads to make sure.

It transmits on all the frequencys as well, even the ones the RX goes DEAF... ??? This is perplexing, anybody got some real clues on how to remedy this please ?

It did in one version of the sketch. Up to ch 79 (27.795). Requires modifying the wiring around the LED drivers a little bit. Don't remember why I set it back to 40 channels, but it must have seemed important at the time.
