MD Docket No. 20-270 REPORT AND ORDER
Adopted: December 23, 2020
Released: December 29, 2020

By the Commission:
In this Report and Order, we adopt a new application fee schedule that significantly updates the Commission’s previous fee schedule in both types of applications and other processes covered by the fee requirement and also in the fee amounts. The new and revised application fees we adopt today apply to a broad spectrum of filings processed by the Commission, including applications, modifications, amendments, and renewals of wireless, broadcast, and satellite licenses, applications to participate in auctions, tariff filings, formal complaints, and certain petitions.

Personal licenses include Amateur Radio Service licenses (used for recreational, noncommercial radio services), Ship licenses (used to operate all manner of ships), Aircraft licenses (used to operate all manner of aircraft), Commercial Radio Operator licenses (permits for ship and aircraft station operators, where required), and General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) licenses (used for shortdistance, two-way voice communications using hand-held radios, as well as for short data messaging applications

Hopefully it is $35 for each application.
Supposedly there are guys who collect 1x3,2x1,1x2 etc calls and just juggle them around in the system so they never get put back in the pool. This would at least make this crappy behavior cost something.

So if want to keep a license I have to pay $35 once every ten years? Guess I better start saving up, just seven years until the next renewal. Hope I can sock away that kind of cash in such a short time.
