Service Advisement On The S-400-12 Switching Power Supplies

Ordered Saturday and received power supply today. Super fast shipping and it's so small compared to the old Astron 20amp supply I have. Cord is 3 prong type with 16awg or so wire size with a rocker on/off switch. If it works well I will be a happy camper! Thanks for the input and replies. This appears to be another solid but from recommendations made here! God bless

Are these the units we're discussing: eBay item #370416560359

I have the MFJ-4275MV Switching supply and the RF hash is very problematic, and the hash is easily displayed on the panadapter.

I'd like to give one of these a try, but am pretty skeptical...

Moleculo, I purchased the mega watt s400-12. $67 shipped from eBay. Haven't had time to use it yet, but from all accounts and info posted here, I have heard good things and am hopeful it will work well. Haven't been let down yet by the good reviews here yet! Will update when I get home this evening and hook it up.

I have this one running my FT-450, have had zero issues with noise, I picked up two more for other uses(including running 20amps of landscape lighting, and have help up for several months so far, with zero issues)

anyway..30amp for $23 shipped
Amazon product ASIN B00D7CWSCG

What is different about the eBay version vs. the Amazon version? Are the guys selling the one on ebay upgrading the filter caps or are they the same?

Looks like what I have. That is a great price! I over paid!! Will have to order one of the other versions and see. They look identical, the cord sure doesn't make 40 dollars lol!!

The "MegaWatt" power supply is sold from Califronia. I run two of these with a diode isolator to combine power output and keep the the regulators from fighting for control. They did not have the master/slave arrangement for regulation. Been running mine for years with no problems at all. Not even the lint problem stated earlier.

Yep tallman that's where mine was from sir. How are you. Been a while! Hopefully all is well. Staying quite busy myself lol. Tell the wife I said hello and hope all is well. God bless.

OK, I just bought the one off amazon. I'm going to hook this up to my K3 and see what type of hash it has, if any. I'll be able to tell right away on the panadapter.

I'll also post panadapter pics of MFJ vs this supply for all to see.

If it is a MegaWatt power supply I think you will be happy with it. I Scanned mine with my spectrum analyzer and did not find any spurious noise. I have a neighbor I can detect whenever he starts his truck. Lots of EMI from it.

Can you provide some details on the diode isolator arrangement? Did you just use a diode isolator like the type used on cars when running two batteries?
