I'm going to replace my I-Max 2000 at 25f for Sirio 27-4 Vertical 4 element beam. Let's see how this goes.Will have some video and stuff. 73s

Careful with an aluminum antenna and those highline wires behind your current setup. Can't tell if there any lectric but if there is that could be nasty in the event of a collapse.

I plan to push-up a Sirio SY-3 to full λ height (36'), I expect to achieve < 10 degree projection on the horizon; and install my I-Max 2000 immediately above the SY-3. The I-Max 2000 has served exceptionally for 20 years but never before above 25'. My idea is to retain the all around receive capabilities of the monopole, to find the stations of interest, then turn the SY-3 for improved contact conditions.

More recently I'd improved upon the I-Max 2000 with the GPK radial extended to 1/4λ SS whip antennas; the whips had stood idle in the corner. The reception is unbelievably improved , while still at 25'AGL, over the original 6' radials.

Theory is, the SY-3 or in your case the SY-4, will serve as an exceptional ground plane for the I-Max 2000. Im imagining the SY-4 has a near 13' beam and about 19.5' width, making for a fairly large horizontal GP area.

It's ok the close one is cable that we dont use now. Thank you for the concern. Getting lit up is no fun. Waiting on male for Sirio

Radials won't help a I-Max from my experience

The debate remains generally two sided. My experience places me at the other table.

The I-Max is a dipole when it is anchored on the ground. When it is elevated well above the ground it is a monopole, detached from its necessary other half.

The 1/4λ SS radials are my effort to provide a ground plane, at whatever height above ground it is raised, returning it to the performance of a dipole antenna.

As is said time and again, "whatever werx, for you".

If you're lucky with the coax or mast length it may not. If you're not lucky they'll make a difference. The problem is that the difference that people like yourself expect....the S meter to go higher than before to those you rabbit to on Ch19, is generally not the difference you'll get.
