Sirio mobile antennas, which is which

I've wondered if the Sirio will work on a Wilson roof mount as well. I've got several, older, Wilson 1000 antennas and one of the newer 5000s. I would really like to know if a Sirio would fit properly on the Wilson roof mount.
I have a Sirio 5000 on my old Wilson 5000 mag mount, no problem. Although the Sirio mag mount has a bigger diameter.

So just an update. Earlier this year after this thread was posted. I put an old stock wilson roof mount on my truck with a sirio fighter p-5000-pl.
It had the fold over lever thing. Seemed well made. Tuned very easily.
I check my SWR every day as a normal matter of course. Its the first thing i do when i turn it on. One day, poof full scale. I unscrewed the antenna base from the mount and everything seemed fine except the inside if the pl connection was very very chalky, almost looking like corrosion. Looking back on it, maybe i should have slathered noalox or some other dielectric grease but didn't.
I got frustrated enough to rip it all out and mount a puck. I have had no issues with that.

Id never hesitate to run a sirio again though.maybe it was a fluke.

No problem. I just posted the link and info in case someone was looking for a 5000 replacement stinger. The 72" Light Duty should replace the 70.8 inch factory one without breaking the bank.

Linearone- this might be a little late, but just happened across this post. Ive been running sirio performer 5000s for about ten years now, and gotta say- great antenna. My first was on a mag mount on a geo metro, and would still have it, but I didn't watch for water intrusion, and it corroded on me- my bad. Second one is on my dodge ram, using a breedlove angle pocket mount and breedlove attachments, one for 3/8-24 for my 102, and one with so239 for the sirio. As you can see, 7 foot garage door makes roof mount not an option, but the folder on the sirio works excellent. This one has been on the truck a little over 8 years, and talks like crazy. I bonded the truck real well, and antenna is tuned at about 1:15 on channel 40, and about 1:1 on channel one. Barely cracks the needle in 20. Have always had good reports, and have talked skip to texas, Arkansas, Missouri, n Carolina, etc.
Just got my ham ticket, and am waiting to setup a radioddity qt80, hopefully I'll have good luck. Yeah, I'm a believer, and just a little sealing I would still be using my first one. I've posted about this antenna before, but like I say, just came across this post. And oh, btw, breedlove stuff is bees knees!

Thanks for sharing your Sirio install. I have run a 5000 permanent mounted to the roof of my old ram for years and it has worked great. I will be picking up a newer truck soon and I am planning on mounting the Sirio similarly to yours.. I also plan to use the breedlove stake pocket mount. I was planning on putting it in the rear pocket to get the antenna away from the cab.

My question to everyone is.. do I mount my P5000 on a so-239 stake pocket mount and keep the coil just off the bed.. OR get the 3/8 thread mount and pick up the 5000 trucker version. Use the supplied 8' shaft to get the coil up a little higher off the bed?
Or will it really make any difference??

I know the roof would be the best option but not planning on a mag mount or drilling the roof yet..

Thoughts?

I had thoughts like that about the install on my ram, but settled on getting it in the garage under a 7 foot door, tight fit. Haven't noticed any tune/ talk issues being just behind can....my ultimate thought was that bonding would help that situation, and antenna height without an extension would " get me over can and below most branches". I guess whatever works for you. Ultimate would probably be center of roof, but I'm a little too tall with my door height. I've run the 102" stainless on a spring with great results, only issue was keeping 102 tied down at an angle to clear my space. Me, I'm more than satisfied with performance in my location. Also, btw, bullring sells tie downs for bed pockets with router cutters to make the holes ....slicker than snot in a doorknob!!!

Oh, yeah. Almost forgot to mention....... Not that I go in them a lot, but also really handy in 1) car washes, and 2) parking garages!! Car wash just quick unscrew the lockdown lever and stow it inside, garages just fold it down. Plenty of parking garages you can't get under even with stinger off roof mount.

I will not be there but hopefully by the end of this month I will have my New tower and antennas back in the air including my M2 6M5X. The old tower and all of my antennas came down in October 2023 during a Hurricane.
