sirio mobile ntennas

Thanks for your reply.

I never expect to run anything more than 2-300 watts in my mobile. I am not familiar with the sirio mobile antennas.

Do they make a lower wattage version with same whip length and fold down design that will replace my Wilson 1000 roof mount?

I sure like the folding capabilities.

yes they do;

CB 27 MHz Mobile Antenna

and this is the company that carries them;
2950 DX : Antron Antennas : CB Coax : Connex 4300 : Maco Beam : RCI Radios : RM Italy : Trunking Sca

hope this helps.

Thanks for reply.

I was checking this site also, they seem to have decent prices.

CB & 10M Mobile, DNJ Radio

wow, ok. i thought that there was only one distributor for them here in the us. hmmm, i see they have the turbo version listed for $59.00 H&Y has them listed for $83.00...wonder if it is a typo?

i don't think they carry the mag mounts for them tho.

i have herd this before from someone that got the antenna as a "bonus" for buying other items. from what i understand when they offer package deals they tend to have the bottom end accesseries such as what you describe. was wondering if you bought this, or was it a "bonus" for buying other items? did you do any testing with it other than just a visual assessment? or did you just write it off? kind of hard to label an antenna a piece of crap without doing any testing of the antenna itself. especially when it is well known that the z-180 was a very good antenna. in anycase.....perhaps it would have been a better statement to say it was a crappy package deal.

it kind of makes me wonder. if you bought it, perhaps you should have done more research on it.

if not, what are you complaining about? it was free.

The antenna was part of a package deal involving a Magnum Delta Force and a $25 grab bag.
I didn't need to test it......when I was driving to an open area to set the match it fell off the roof! RG58 coax and an extemely heavy whip that falls off when you hit a small branch is all I need to form a negative opinion. At least a Wilson 1000/5000 mag mount stays put. All I wanted was the Delta Force, so I was happy.

i would have tested it out on the wilson mag. and from my experence being a long time wilson fan, it would have done a little better than the wilson. so you hit something with it and it came off the roof....figures..even the sirio p5000 series will come off if you hit something hard enough with it.

well good, as long as you were happy that is all that matters.

that is of course if you remove them. most people that i know of do not. and to remove the antenna everytime it rains or snows and is an unessary chore added to the long list of more important things that people need to do.

it takes seconds to remove a magmounted sirio, as plenty of thieves here in Glasgow will testify, not to mention its one huge fuck off advertisement you've got a radio worth stealing.

i am wondering if you suffer from the same corrosive conditions in the winter months as we do here in the northeastern part of the u.s.

not sure what the weathers like in your neck off the woods, but we get rain, snow, rain, sleet, thunder and lightning, rain, hailstones , rain, gale force winds, rain , acid rain, radioactive rain from chernobyl, blizzards and more rain, anyway, thats enough about todays weather here.

i remember when i was young i thought i saw the sun, but could have just been my mum putting on the bedroom light.

what do you think?
