Just got this antenna. The instructions are hard to understand. How do you measure it for 11 meters?

Thanks in advance
Bobby

the only adjustment after you put the antenna together is the very top section,, there is a chart in the instructions for the top section length based of your desired center frequency, set it and it will be good

Undertaker, if you have not installed this antenna yet, and you can...will you please measure for me:

1. the short base mounting element at the bottom of the antenna up to the bottom of the radial hub?

2. the overall length of the pre-installed base section as it comes in the kit, bottom of the antenna to the point just above the coil where the 5 section telescopic whip attaches?

3. the overall length for the 5 section telescopic aluminum whip extended out and screwed together as it will be installed?

I want to check this length for my Tornado 27 Eznec model.

Undertaker, just so you know, these antennas are real broad branded and you are setting it for 27.000mhz which is the low end of the CB band. For a more center of the CB band setting you want to make the tip height @ 40.55" or 1030mm which is about center of the CB band depending on who you ask. I go by channel 20, some go by channel 19. Either way, it's not that much difference. At channel 19 it's 41.73" or 1060mm. This should give enough banwitdth to cover the CB band for sure. It's pretty much a set it and forget it antenna. Not much to them. Make sure the radials are measured correctly and use blue LOCTITE on all the Allen head screws. Also no-ox on all the joints and the screws that hold the joints together. And also make sure to weather proof the connector well!! And any other area where it appears water might get in. Place it up at least to 30ft or more and it will work well. The higher the better. JMHO.
