Put the PRESIDENT “Texas” in the mix, also.
I have one and know of others that run the Sirio 5000. It's a good antenna. Flat SWR over a surprising range of frequencies. For the money a good purchase.
Until this ant was mentioned in another thread, I've never heard of it..
Might have to research this.
I think I saw in another thread that the Texas has a 3/8 24 stud mount. The European version has either a pl mount or an nmo mount not sure.Until this ant was mentioned in another thread, I've never heard of it..
Might have to research this.
On my last truck I did the same. I saw a huge improvement over Wilson 5000. The while moving the Wilson around on my bench I heard a splashing sound, a drain hole was created and sold at yard sale. Wilson leaky coil + water = crap performance. It ended my love for Wilson Antennas.i replaced my wilson with a sirio performer 5000.. theres is a SLIGHT increase on tx/rx.. they do tune a lil better than the wilson. my only complaint is on recieve it picks up alot more electical noise. from electic wires, other cars,ect...its also roughly 5 or 6 inches taller. so ya gonna hit more stuff as well especially when on the roof
I remember on another forum somebody took the coil apart on a Wilson, what was exposed was total trash. Water had entered the coil and the inside was rusty.
So far I have not had that problem. Had a few K40s do this.
This would be another good reason to get a Sirio. Have not read a bad review on the Sirio so far.
