Ralph , why did you mention making shot shells for your 38 ? You know how I am ! Expect a PM for loading instructions . You know I have plenty of 38 Brass still , something different for me to try ! I have a few 38 shot shell but factory made . They have a blue plastic top . Never fired one yet ! Another adventure for Leo ! Thanks to Ralph ! Wait ... I still need to get some Unique ! Took this picture today. Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Special. Two shells loaded with #7 1/2 shot and three shells loaded with 240 grain semi-wadcutters. Both with Unique powder.

My step Daddy used to load a 38 up like that, or alternated round for self defense. Then years later The Judge came out, he bought two. Momma got one fer each night stand.
Ralph , I LOVE that Bull Dog & you keep it clean , because that finish shows powder flash ! At least my Ruger does . Red , every time I see a Judge I wonder why I don't have one in my collection .

10.5 grains unique,large pistol primers 255 grain hornady jhp.will stop about any critter on north american soil. 3 screw ruger blackhawk 7.5" pipe.if thats not stout enough add 1 more grain a blackhawk will digest it.
That .45 will do it! I load 255 lead SWC's with 7.8 grains of Unique to shoot in the wimpy Uberti .45's.
For the .45 Blackhawk I load either 250 grain Hornady XTP JHP's or 255 SWC's with 19.5 grains of 2400 powder. Ruger Only Load

Unique is my favorite powder for hand guns. Been trying to convince Leo to get some Unique.

yes i prefer unique,meters great burns clean,loads develope great. Its been around a long time.most all gun stores carry unique.that says lotsUnique is my favorite powder for hand guns. Been trying to convince Leo to get some Unique.

Yep...good stuff. Unique and 2400 are the only two hand gun powders I use. I only use the 2400 for .357 & .44 magnums. When I run out of 2400 I'll just stick with the Unique.

My next jug of powder is " Unique " ! I bought that Hs-6 to get started & soon leaned it wasn't the best powder . I wish they had it stock that day @ 50 percent off because Ralph told me to start w/ that . After researching the same 70's Speer manual we both have I know why . A lot more recipes ! Buying the Hs-6 powder was a big Newbie mistake . Though it shoots well w/ 6.1 g & a 148 cast WC using a Mag primer in my Ruger 357 & I lightened the powder loads for my short piped S&W mod 10 . (38spl loads )
