375-400 watts, mixed reviews on the echo style. If you like the Astaic-style echo boarda and Astatic base echo mics, you'll like it.

your actually getting 400 watts out of this radio DTB?

All I'm getting is 300 watts with lots of modulation. I like the radio though. Seems to get out very well; Don't like the echo board.

Maybe should have waited till the 98vhp came out. Seems like I'm being short change if that radio actually gets to 400watts. Maybe I can find a good tech that can put 2879's into this radio. Do you know anyone that can?

Swapping finals in that radio would be foolish. 1) not cost effective. 2) that will jack up a nice radio. 3) You could vary your power from 300-400 watts and no one that you talk to would even notice. You have an exellent hi dollar radio, have it tuned one time correctly and leave it the heck alone.

It wouldn't be worth it to put 2879's in it.
The internals of the radio couldn't drive them enough.

Lets hear some reports! How well are they doing so far and how much power are you seeing?

As far as bang for the buck........worthless.

The first one I tested showed around 360-375 on the bench with cheap little gator clips as power connectors. The last one I checked showed closer to 320-350 with the same clips. I haven't gotten time to rig up a more solid power connection for that radio yet.
