Some minor changes to the forum

We've made some minor changes to the forum. Mainly, the Politics section has been changed to a "Politics, Religion, & Controversy" section and moved to a "Members Area" down below. Because this section can get heated, it has been restricted to those that have contributed to the forum and purchased a Premium Membership. Please read the description and forum section rules carefully before posting.

The "Announcements & Open Forum" section has also had a new rule applied which is "No controversial topics" allowed. That's what the "Politics, Religion, & Controversy" section is for.

There may be more "members only" sections added in the future. Of course if you have ideas that would be useful, feel free to make suggestions.

That's the way the world works. If you got the money to pay, then you have freedom of speech; otherwise, get lost!

I hope the fags that cost me my privelages got just as screwed.

Oh, never mind, I see they were already $immune$

Good deal Big M,

Thanks for the additions & changes. Most look great!

All I would suggest is that the new Political/Religion/ Controversy Forum be open to everyone.

I agree with the other new forum being private.

Thanks again !! (y)

The reason for the premium membership there is that it should slow down the occasional forum "drive by" trouble maker who likes to read one topic, post a message to start shit then never come back, then we the moderators have to deal with it.

After all, this is a radio forum so dealing with the crap like that,,,, no-one wants to do.

As for "pay for freedom of speech",,,, this country has always had to pay for freedom, but this forum is privately owned, freedom is decided within the rules of the owner, after all,,, he pays the bills even if noone makes a donation.

Yeah that may happen HH, but here's a side effect of what has happened. All the existing political thread material has been moved there. Much....the majority of it, has been posted by non-premium members. So now all their work and effort has been removed from their access, and that seems a bit unfair. They had something, now it's taken away.

Thanks!

Freedom of speech does not mean the ability to say whatever you want, wherever and whenever you want with no consequences. Controversial topics are a hassle to moderate and steal time away from contributing to more meaningful topics that are more related to the forum purpose. Hamer's comments are also another reason for this...it cuts down on those that stop by just to stir it up.

This method of handling these types of topics is a fairly normal practice on forums. I didn't invent it.

It seems to me that one usually has to take the good with the bad...

The only speech that needs protection is that which is controversial or unpleasant.

It's alright. I'm getting used to having my freedoms taken away left and right.

I'll just have to find somewhere else to contribute my non-radio related messages. After all, it's not as much fun just having them available to a small, select group of elite members, and I'm sure nobody would want to pay to read any of my dribble...

sorry to have bothered the owner, operators, and administation of this forum with my out of bounds speech. I'll step in line, jump, solute, or just SHHHH as ordered.

What happened this week, was that someone proved they could abuse the system and hold the moderators in suspense by giving them money.

IMO- all priveidges should be restored to all and rule changes made. If someones behaivior is getting out of hand, then the moderators should reprimand them and put them on probation. If they party in question should continue to act improperly after the warning and probation, the moderators should vote to permanently dismiss the member. Forfeiture of their membership monies would be kept by the WWRF operators.

This would provide the incentive for members to remain civil and still have their freedom of speech. The 'anything goes', politics, etc, pages should be allowed to continue and moderators can warn those who are pushing the limit and remind them that this a forum and not a bar room.

Moderators - do what you feel is best - it's your site. I just thought I would finally say something after that mess over the last few days...That's all...

What was done to break the rules? what are the rules? do you have screenshots?

holey smokes, the foxes are running the hen house!

CI and WW are now moderators?

You guys must have dropped some serious coin.

Anyway, I don't feel that it's my place to tell the owner, forum operators, etc. how to run the place.

Heck, I know it costs money to run a place like this, and that the owner does it out of his own devotion and personal expense...and I know it's no fun dealing with the greasy kid stuff, so I would not blame anyone, or really be surprised, if the the whole place became a paid for membership service. That sure would cut down on the riff raff.

Watch it C2, before I direct CI, the MM, to assess you the Double Secret Posting Fee (which is a lot

) to ever post anything again

Eh, as far as I'm concerned, your strings are only attached to CI...it says so right in your tag line.

Even CI cannot levey posting fees, it says so in his tag line as he is merely a membership moderator. But I bet he could hold such membership ransom!

We're all doomed!

I'm gonna miss the Klavern Kracken.

Maybe they can get some math lessons.

How does $15/yr equate to $200/10yrs or $500/25 yrs?

How about just taking the $25/2yrs times 5?
