The RCI-2985dx was a day late, thank you not at all USPS, you lazy overpaid clods.
Even without their help, the radio is set up, working and duhhhh, what do I do next. There is a lot to learn here. 15 buttons, 9 knobs, 2 meters and an LCD panel to tell me what it's doing. It's got a 6 digit frequency counter and channels I never heard of. It's a thing of beauty.
My first contact was 350 Georgia. He got stepped on by 456 New Zealand who was sitting right here beside me it seemed like. Compared to the Uniden 980ssb,....... There is no comparison. I thought that little dinky mobile did pretty good, but when it comes to RX, it was lacking 4 or 5 transistors or something. The 2985 just sucks them in out of the air when with that other radio I never knew they were out there at all. People think CB has died. No, it's the radios that have died.
No offense.
