Spt-500 or A-99 for dedicated 10 meter use?

My EFHW works better on 10m local and DX than my Imax 2000. The tip of the Imax is 45 ft above ground. Go figure!
I just tested this again yesterday, with a new guy in our group.
Hey fogdog. Little do you know that you were instrumental in mine and my bro-in-laws set-up. He is running a 7300 with the myantenna 80-10 also. As newly licensed hams, "NOT KNOWING SQUAT" I was following your posts trying to find a starting setup. His station and mine work great. Thank you and everyone else on this forum for blazing these trails . I made my very first QSO yesterday to G0SXC in northern England on 80 meters. Im hooked.

most chimneys are not good structures for antenna mounts.......... YMMV

Personally, I would get the SP500 as high as possible, tune it for 28.400 +/-, use an antenna tuner for any other bands, if necessary, ...... and pitch the A99.

Exactly what I'd do, too. Give the Antron to a needy hobbyist.
