Strange swr situation

I'm new to cb. I was having some issues with the swr reading on my Ga;axy 959 which I posted about here. I thought I would be better off by getting an swr meter. So I got an Astatic PDC1 and a RG-58A jumper. Followed youtube videos and the swr reading were extremely high. Like near the set point. I don't know if I can trust the new stuff as the readio is reading just over 2. The jumper seems very cheap quality. I would like to have this sorted out before I permanately install the headliner. any advice is appreciated. As I said in the other thread I have a four foot fire stick I could switch to but would mount that to the headache rack.

In any cb application in a mobile there is always a need to adjust your antenna for the best SWR. What antenna and vehicle do you have? Where is the antenna mounted on the vehicle and how?

You should be able to get a Lil Wil to at least 1.5 SWR. Just remember to check it on AM with enough carrier to get to the calibrate point on the meter. Should be able to just move the stinger up or down. Here is a nice link that can help. A mag mount on top of a truck like that is perfect. Just slap it up there and set the SWR.

See my original post linked here or in antennas.
