Doesn’t RIT show up in the upper right of the display indicating receiver freq change?
Even the most state of the art ham rig only does it that way. When you turn on RIT and /or Delta Transmit the main display stays the same and an additional display pops up that show how far off the main display that you are tuning.
For myself it would be strange for it to work any other way. I am used to always having the main frequency as is displayed and also knowing just how far I have gone with the RIT/XIT from that frequency.
With a CB radio that happens to have a digital channel display that displays the frequency, it doesn't matter to me whether the "clarifier" tells me how far I tuned off the main channel or not.
The Stryker has both a "channel" mode (band mode) and a VFO mode. In band mode it would only show the channel frequency and the clarifier controls would not show any change with the main display as I understand it.
In VFO mode the coarse does but not the fine. I would guess that the fine is too fine to show any difference on the display as it is. As mentioned, it probably would if the display went out one more digit to 10 Hz tuning instead of stopping at 100 Hz increments.
The Stryker display shows for instance 27.1950 when it could go out to 27.195000 (most recent ham gear does) but there just isn't that much room for it and it wasn't designed that way. They even left out a decimal point to get it all in as it is!
In the end, it sounds like the Stryker coarse control is
very coarse, and the fine tune control is
very fine! You'll get used to it. It just takes some time.
