Interesting to know.Mine does the same thing. I have orange as the display. When I power up, split second rbg color, dark, then on.

What #'s did you finally end up settling with? The Mod H & L, AM Powr H & L, and SSB?Just as an update, I'm beginning to have a little more confidence in my V2. I went back into the service menu and MAXED out the mod, both high and low, SSM power high, and set low power AM at 1.5W and SSB low power at about 10W - 12W pep. I'm finding NOW that my V2 has nearly the same forward swing as the V1. When I first took it from the box it was swinging back a little on average meter. I don't know exactly what those adjustments do, whether it opens up and limiters, or just increases the mod, etc. But, as an example, my AM H modulation from the box was set at 169. Keep in mind that lower numbers increase the mod. I first turned it down while watching the meter and the pep was climbing. When it stopped climbing, I left it. The number was 59. Nearly the same on AM low. SSB is higher numbers are higher power. Here is the thing I noticed tonight. I put the meter in average mode and tried the AM mod again. At number 59 it was still dipping, SLIGHTLY back. For squirts a grins, I set the number to 1 and tried it again. Large forward swing. Set the number to 250+, and nearly NO mod at all. So I went back and set all my modulation at 1, and maxed out my SSB. Now the radio has nearly 100W PEP and good, clean modulation. I set my AM high power at about 25W carrier. I usually talk at about 14W and it swings to nearly 100W pep, and still swings forward on average. AM low is set to 1.5W and swings to about 12W pep. These things are tricky. I can't explain WHY continuing past the peak PEP modulation would allow the average to swing forward, but it does. Now, the issue I am still having is with the software. It reads all the way from the radio and just before it displays, it gives me an error 6 overflow message. I can't use my computer to program it.

The shop over here was conservative at best. 1.5 watt low dk and 13 watt high dk, Mod low is at 00087, Mod high is at 00094. Bout 82W AM PEP on LP-100a.I maxed everything out. My mods are both at about 1 or 2. Lower numbers are louder modulation. Then I set the AM High power at about 25 W carrier, the Low AM at 2W carrier, and I modulated SSB and kept turning until it no longer increased, then backed it down a couple of numbers. I had someone about 3 miles away listening while I did this, and after about 1/2 hour of testing different settings, this was the best sound. He is telling me the louder I went the crisper and cleaner it sounded. That's when I maxed it all out and he gave me rave audio reports. So, that's where I'm running it and even the DXrs are telling me the radio sounds dynamite.

...SSB Low is at 00103 and SSB high is at 00170. (Funky #'s) This radio seems to have soooo much more potential according to your results.
So far, so good. I've been looking all over to see what UL POWH and UL POWL do, but to no avail. Those values are 00233 and 00089. I reckon best leave them alone....don't wanna brick anything. It certainly isn't as responsive as the V1, but it is capable of much more than people are reporting on the net. If I over modulate it a a bit I can get 110+ W pep on SSB. I would never recommend doing that, of course. But 95W to 100W pep is easily done. During my testing period, and all my DXing so far, nobody has told me I was over-modulated, splattering, or distorted. When I first opened up the service menu, I noticed my H modulation was set at 169, and the L was at 101. I just kept watching the meter as I cranked them down. When I got to zero, it would shut them down. So, I picked them up to 1 or 2 ( I think) and left them there. Everyone says it sounds fine, clean, and crisp.
Thanks for posting your results. Im just about to get into mine...have you toyed with the audio tx and receive bandwidth..?

That's great to have top notch customer support like that. It's definitely assuring from a customer standpoint.Just as an update, there seems to be an issue with the V2 communicating with the software on a computer. Since day one I have been trying to read from the radio, and just as it's supposed to display the data, I get an error 6 overflow.
I've been talking with Shawn about this and he had me send the radio in. Says it must be a bad chip. I noticed on FB that a few others are having the same issue. So far, tech support has been extremely accommodating. They even offered to change out the finals for higher output free of charge as long as the radio was there. I'll report my findings when I get it back.
For $389.00 from CB World, is this 955v2 already converted for 11 meter? There is a big difference in the boxes. Can't name them know but the first thing that comes to mind is the version one says 7 color display while the version 2 says 8 color display. By the way, CB world has them for sale at 389 each with free shipping
