He says that gun shop owners who price gouge will lose plenty of business in the long run because customers remember who was gouging and who wasn't when things get back to normal. gun and ammo manufacturers have been using scare tactics for decades to sell more wares .
but , i think almost everyone should have a gun , know how to maintain and use it and have at least a few hundred rounds of ammo .
Just got back from Gander Mountain and even they are gouging.

I read what Obama wants to do and it will not affect the normal shooters.
He wants to ban the scarey looking semi autos ONLY with the big magazines plus background checks for even private sales at gun shows. No mags over 10 rounds and more in depth background checks for all gun purchases.
If people just did a little reading, this panic buying wouldn't happen.
All sounds reasonable to me....but then again I ain't married to a blood relative.
The background checks I can live with, as long as it's not used as a registry database. The 10 round capacity is unacceptable. If I have 2 or more bad guys confronting my family, I would wish to pump plenty of rounds their way. 10 bullets ain't enough.
IMO the only thing that the left wingers want that might pass would be tougher background checks. Even then, that might save only 1-3 people a year out of 300,000,000+.
In my house a home invader(s) would be facing a 410 scatter gun loaded with bird shot.
I hope it never comes down to that since my security system would scare all but meth and crackheads away.
Background checks will remain ineffective until they can find a way to insure proper information input. Anyone with mental health problems that goes unreported will still be able to purchase a gun. How many years do you think it'll take for agreement between "gun law advocates" and "human rights attorneys" on how and when mental health issues should be reported in a manner that a background check would pick up on it?
Sounds like the war on terror and drugs......a never ending and expensive proposition.

And every ham 99% of them I talk to locally is a massive ammo,gun hoarder. It's sad if you ask me. I never hear them talk about hunting that's why I'm labeling it as "Sad''.
I was suprised to see 22LR missing from the shelves at Wal Mart and Cabelas, the 223 ammo is not found there but Cabelas did have 9mm in 50 round boxes for $15 which isn't much more than a 50 round box of 17HMR
We have been having problems sourcing .22lr for a while now, the manufactures can not keep up with the demand. Every day we have customers calling/coming in looking for ammo, .223 and .22lr are in very short supply, and that is driving the prices up. Some guys here local know what days our delivery trucks come in and are down at the store hanging out waiting, as soon as we get stock unloaded, they are standing there with money in hand....even before we can get it locked up in the Ammo Case.
We sold 3000 rounds of .22lr in one day last week, truck came in that morning, by noon we were out of stock again.
People are stockpiling ammo.
( I have plenty of boxes of 7.62X54R stashed away....but I am not telling were it is)
