I have a newer front mic 29 with a different set of symptoms but the cure was the same putting in the 47uf cap in the unfilled cap spot. In this 29 there was no black wire.
The audio was fine as long as the volume was low like listening in a home but when in a vehicle when the audio had to be turned up the audio became distorted and the chip started to motorboat. The chip was getting very hot too.
I think I have another 29 shelved long ago with the same motorboating problem. I think I will have to dig it out and see if it can be fixed also.
