Tecsum PL-880 Battery Door?

This is my 2nd 880. 1st was stolen. Here's my problem. Out of the box new yesterday and I go to put the battery in and the door/cover will not snap back and lock. If I take the battery out, no problem. Put it back in, problem. What am I missing?
