Would anyone happen to have the owners manual to a CB-73 TELEX?

I think I have run into this issue with a Turner Mic before, but Shield to pin 4 should have continuity on receive and I don't have it with the existing wiring of the Mic. And, not having that, I also don't have the Shield to pin 3 on Xmit.
The Ranger SR158 works good with the President AX44, but this TELEX isn't wired the same internally, and doesn't work.
I think it might have to do with electronic switching or something like that. My memory doesn't work too well.

Looks like markings on the board for the different configurations.

Thanks

may have found some of the problem A little brown wire has come off the switch. Nothing on the board seems to be out of place so it may hook up onto the switch somehow. They are very delicate.

I've heard they are good sounding mics, but this is the first one I've had my hands on.

I'm just sorting through what I salvaged from my late father in law's estate to see what works, and what I can get working.

A 58 year collection of stuff, and unfortunately most went to the dump. There's only so much room a guy has, and none of the family is interested in the stuff, and there seems to be very few interested in this old school electronics and radio.

He was an Class 2 radio guy, did audio visual stuff in the casino's, engineered test stuff at the Nuclear test site when it was up and running, repaired TV's, radios etc. He basically is responsible for my interest in radio and electronics although I never did gain any of the vast knowledge the man had. And I did try, I just don't have a lot of retention nor understanding of electronics try as I may.

Thanks

My late Grandfather was responsible for a great part of my interest. I had already had a great interest in seeing what made things tick in general. He seemed to pick up on that early on, and he did teach me things when he could, and when he had a bit of patience. He was a hard man, but I was at least a bit lucky that he liked me. Haha Anyway, he requested that I come over one day through my Mother. Little did I know that he was getting me there to talk to me about the part of his “estate” that he thought only I would be interested in. Nothing went to the dump that did not need to go, so I was fortunate there. Every time I dig through the boxes or tins I think of him. It is sad, but it still puts a smile on my face somehow.

I get ya. I had a bad habit of taking things apart when I was growing up. Problem I had then, and sometimes now, I couldn't get anything back the way was before I messed with it.
Unfortunately my Dad's mechanical skills were pretty much limited to putting oil and gas in the car.

Going through all the years of his collecting felt like going through a time capsule of electronics from the late 50's onward. Took us months to get through it.

Ill pay for shipping to me! Unless you want an element. If you have not thrown it out already I have a couple elements extra I do believe.

This thread is a bit old but I picked up one of these Telex CB-73 mics and I am trying to get it back to factory. Whoever had this before hacked it with some strange mod that has two pushbuttons on the top of the mic. There's also added resistors on the mic switch which I'm still trying to figure out what is going on there. I truly would just like to get out back to stock but cannot find any schematics or any other useful info after lots of searching. Does anybody have any documentation on this old girl? If not, some clear photos of one that hasn't been hacked would be incredibly useful.

Thanks and 73s

I have one apart that seems untouched. But, I am out of town until Sunday morning. If you remind me I could send you board pictures.
That would be great!!! Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you but it's like to get this mic going if possible. Any pictures of the board would be greatly appreciated!

Hopefully these help. You should be able to see the cord wires cut off just before they got to the switch. Also, the shield cut off just before it got to the board. Any questions, just let me know. I was using this on a 4 pin Cobra type radio before I decided to replace the dried out cord.

Thanks for that! I will dig into this over the next day or so and let you know how I make out. I think I should be able to piece it back together with the help of these pics. Thanks again!!!
